Wetherby Whaler - Leeds

While I understand the constraints of the restaurant's location on the first floor, I believe there should be a better and safer solution for busy times, especially considering the recent refurbishment that did not address this risky practice. It seemed like profit was prioritized over safety. Despite this, the meals were still very good, although I was disappointed to discover that bread and butter are no longer included with the prices not being cheap. To make matters worse, it took a long time to get a staff member's attention for the bill, longer than it took to eat the meal. The staff seemed preoccupied with catching up after the rush. I hope they will be more attentive to the needs of diners in the future.

I ordered a takeout for my family with five servings of fish and chips and mushy peas. The food was fantastic, reasonably priced, and the fish and chips were authentic. The packaging was great and made it easy to eat at home. I'm sure even the Tough of the Track would have approved of this meal!

We visited at 6pm great lively atmosphere. Excellent food haddock and chips of course, batter crispy, chips tasty and not greasy. There was a vegetarian menu also. Good value under £14 a head. Really good staff, friendly and efficient. A great place for a quick meal, we’ll be back.

I stopped by here for a poke of chips and was really impressed by the quality and price. Served very quickly I enquired about the toilet and got looked at like I had 3 heads and snapped at WELL IT'S UPSTAIRS so i asked to go up and the response was WELL YOUR FOOD IS READY. I took this to mean don't ask me again. I was a take away customer but a paying one and the responses I got were very strange and not particularly friendly. If toilets are out of bounds for paying take away customers just say so ? It left a bad taste in my mouth despite the beautiful battery goodness.

Having lived in Wetherby for 37 years, I was shocked that I had never been to this restaurant before. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience and regret not trying it sooner. The young lady who served us, with brown hair in pigtails, was lovely and provided excellent service. It is rare to encounter such friendly and helpful staff while dining out. My mother also enjoyed the evening and we will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
