Mar De Plata - Lecce

We went there yesterday for our daughters birthdays. We had a wonderful dinner. Very good linguine vongole. I had the same dish a couple of days ago in another restaurant but that dish wasn’t tasteful, this dish in Mar de Plata was delicious. Also our daughters and my husband enjoyed their meals. And as a big surprise a beautiful cake. Thank you so much for your good care and wonderful food! You really deserve a super review on TripAdvisor.

We were in search of a nice beach on the east coast of Salento. But, the truth is, we were unsuccessful. The beaches didn't look very nice or lively. Dispirited, we came here for a snack, and sat outside. The truth is that the view of the sea is not particularly pretty from this vantage point, but on the other hand, it's pleasant to eat by the sea. We had coffee and split a salad that was pretty delicious with honeydew melon, prosciutto, tiny mozzarella balls and really bitter and delicious wild rocket; in Australia, the rocket you commonly buy has had that delicious bitterness bred out of it. Then, we decided to try a pasticchiotto, and the cashier, who had a wonderful, friendly energy explained that it was the true pasticchiotto from Lecce, with custard in it (not chocolate for example). It was absolutely deliciious. A taste sensation. I recommend you eat a dozen of them.

In Casalabate last week as stayed nearby and everything was shut for dinner except for Mar de Plata. I had mixed fried fish which was previously frozen and not good and my wife had chicken strips which were overcooked. Not good but any port in a storm.. Visited following day for coffee Again nothing else open and must say the coffee was good and had lunch Spaggetti Mussels which was good.. Whiled away several hours on the waters edge. Service both time was good and the beer was cold
