First Taste Olive Oils Cafe

There are many reasons why a person likes the food of a restaurant and this mix of retail and restaurant is one of my three favorite places to eat locally. The best ingredients prepared with a true joy if cooking are the hallmarks of why First Taste is a favorite. The menu is simple, but so very good with one or two selections for the day. My sister and I visited and it was the first day of summer. Foods are prepared using oils and vinegars sold on site. The hummus is excellent and if you want to know how it was made, just ask and you will learn what mixture of oils that were used. I selected the the Mussels entree, which were on offer to accompany the Beach theme to celebrate summer. The broth of the Mussels was lucious and the bread provided was perfect for dunking. My sister had the grilled cheese sandwich (requested to have bacon added) and found this to be The best grown-up grilled cheese . Ice creams are made with olive oil and are creamy. The lemon wast just the right note of tartness and with the slight amount of lemongrass/mint added, the dessert could not have been more perfect. Take time to taste test oils and vinegars offered and you will be happy that you did. For those who enjoy cooking, you will live preparing meals and bringing even more flavor into you dishes.

Took my boyfriend on a date here needless to say... he was pleased. I had been here 2 other times and my goodness, the food is incredible. Very well priced, very fresh, very filling. Most places, I'd leave feeling over stuffed but not here! Can't wait to go back

Amazing place to go!! My girlfriend and I went here and the food is so incredible!! I couldn't believe how well the oils and the food they made went together. Absolutely a must go place if you're visiting or live here. Very healthy food and filling!

Oil and Vinegar shops across the nation all seem to be pretty much the exact same store. They sell the same flavors in the same colored bottles with similar labels that have been tweaked with a different brand name. That being said, I always know what to expect when I go to one and I appreciate that. First Taste will forever hold a special place in my heart as it was the first Oil and Vinegar shop that I ever went to. I compare all other shops to this one. It has a great variety of oils and vinegars and the store itself is beautiful. The atmosphere feels a bit cold and the staff is a bit hit or miss in friendliness but for the most part this little shop gets the job done. It is a great addition to the Leavenworth community and I am glad that it exists. Thank you for introducing me to the world of tasty oils and vinegars. My kitchen owes you one.

Very fresh, delicious array of hand made goodies, from rainbow wrap (personal favorite full of shredded multi-color veggies), to roast beef, to flight of crazy delicious olive oil ice creams with the experts advising on the various flavored vinegar toppings. A fun experience niche restaurant that just might turn into your favorite spot. Love it.
