Bidra med feedbackThe best Jamaican food you can get off the island. Everything here is always fresh and delicious. The patties are crispy, flaky, and buttery, filled with all the delicious meats and seasoning you would expect. The jerk chicken is spicy and flavorful, and the curry chicken is so moist and tender you can cut it with a spoon. The service here is also stellar, and the owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Go and try this place, because it doesn't get any tastier than this!
The positive reviews are obviously from people that have not had authentic Jamaican cuisine or maybe it is they have not had homemade Jamaican food. The curry chicken was not edible at all; it was very dry and it should be tender if cooked properly. The rice and peas were horrible. The beef patty and the plantain were the only palatable parts of my order. The food is overpriced for the quality of the food. I would not recommend this restaurant
The customer service was great employees were exceptionally nice. However, the food was unbelievably bland, no seasoning, I honestly don't event believe salt pepper on the cabbage, rice peas meat. I will say that the oxtails were some of the meatiest oxtails I've had, but with the lack of flavor, it doesn't really matter. Even the The cost was $27 in my personal opinion not worth it at all.
I have seen this spot many times as I passed by it. Decided to finally stop and try the place. It's okay. I have definitely had better Jamaican food before. I guess having visited Jamaica in September and experiencing the food first hand makes comparing the American Jamaican food version different.
I normally do not go out of my way to leave a review but I had to. Although the customer service was great, the food was tasteless, old, and dry. My rice had hard chucks in it and the bread and beef patty was dry and old. My cabbage had no flavor and the jerk chicken looked like meatloaf. I definitely will not be coming back.
