My wife and I visited Las Palmas for a day of sightseeing from Playa del Ingles. After walking around the beautiful old town we decided to stop for a spot to eat. Several outside tables at the Adargoma were already taken and the food being served looked delicious. What really sold us was that the restaurent only serves Canarian cuisine. We opted to share the plate of 5 mixed tapas dishes and a bottle of Rioja for 31 euros (the tapas dishes themselves were only 15 euros). The tapas consisted of canarian potatoes, peppers, a fish dish and two other dishes. They were all cooked freshly and accompanied by the bottle of Rioja made a lovely lunch-time treat. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We’d taken a bus from Las Canteras and had a wander around the old town. It was lunch time so not all restaurants were open, but those that were were busy and the smells were enticing. Our first and second choices were full so when we next came across this one we decided to give it a try. It didn’t look as nice. A boy on the next table was having squid rings so we pointed at that and asked for the same. We were told it was part of the special fish platter for 2. So we decided to share. What came was a huge platter of soggy sardines and chunks of baked fish parts which was either of rubber texture, pure bone or pink undercooked flesh. There was also a large inedible fish head. Some new potatoes and basic salad. Needless to say we didn’t eat much. A couple of bread rolls with dips were ok. Sparkling water had been decanted from a larger vessel before it reached us. €50. It w As painful to pay the bill.
