Perry's On Magnolia - Larkspur

Perry 's is our go-to local place. It 's like the Marin version of Cheers ... but with good food. All of the Perry 's locations share the same friendly ambiance, quality food, and good service. The Larkspur location is my favorite because of the beautiful creek and large redwood trees on the property. Everything on the menu is good. We like the calamari appetizer, and I usually order the Perry 's Burger with bacon and cheddar. They have Pliny on tap. Desserts are good too. Perry 's is an asset to all the communities they have restaurants in. Parking: There is a large lot adjacent to the restaurant. It gets filled up but people come and go frequently, so just wait a few minutes if nothing is open.

First time here at the invite of my sweeties brother. Great choice. Could easily become a favorite.

Our waiter was good; I think his name was Kyle. Two of us ordered crabcakes; we'd had them numerous time before and they were not at all good last night. There were five of us and the 2 crabcakes and 1 potato skins were brought a good ten minutes before the two hamburgers so our crabcakes were not hot by the time we ate. But the temperature of the crabcakes had nothing to do with them being tasteless; we were hugely disappointed.

The setting is outstanding. We sat on the patio surrounded by mature redwood trees. The food was meh. California Eggs Benedict was underseasoned and bland. The only hot sauce available was Tobasco. My friend got the Traditional Cobb salad. The chicken was very tough and chewy. Latte was good. Cocktails average. The service was lacking. We had to flag down the waiter to order, to ask for beverage, and to receive our bill. Still left a tip because it was shared by the busboy who was very attentive.

We enjoyed a nice summer evening on the back patio of Perry's. Our waitress was very pleasant. I had salmon over pesto, quinoa and vegetables and it was excellent. My friend had the hamburger. It was overcooked and the waitress happily sent back his order for one cooked medium rare as he had requested. Overall it was a very nice evening.
