Bidra med feedbackI don't often find myself in Langley, let alone having to distinguish between the City of Langley and the Township of Langley. However, while shopping at a large garden center one weekend, we found ourselves in the area and in need of a meal. Sushico, a Japanese restaurant located in a big strip mall in the City of Langley, was our choice. The space inside was surprisingly large, especially compared to Japanese restaurants in Vancouver, with high ceilings and tables nicely spread out. We opted for their lunch boxes - the Sushi and Sashimi Lunch Box for $17 and the Spicy Sashimi Lunch Box for $16, both of which came with rice, gyoza, tempura, California roll, and miso soup.
I absolutely loved this restaurant! My husband surprised me by taking me there. It's the best sushi I've had since coming to Canada. While it may not be traditional sushi, they have some amazing options. I tried one with bacon and it was delicious. I will definitely be returning after my pregnancy.
I had a great time during my visit to this restaurant. I ordered the Alaska roll, Awesome Roll, and Dynamite roll, and each one was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and well balanced, and the rice was perfectly cooked. It was perfection.
I like this place. It is sleek, attractive and comfortable. Staff seem to be friendly enough and prices seem to be similar to other places. On my first visit, I tried the sushi lunch box. Miso soup and a refreshing Sunomono Salad with plenty of noodles came first. Then the tempura, California roll, gyoza and nigiri. All were tasty and I particularly enjoyed the nigiri. Well prepared and firm fish and just enough tasty rice. On my next visit, I tried the Japanese seafood pancake. It is something different there are a lot of different and interesting dishes here and very enjoyable. It was not like a Korean pancake but not your breakfast pancake either. Moist and a fair bit of octopus and other, with tasty toppings bonito, Japanese mayo and ponzu ? that really made the dish. I had a couple of pieces of nigiri on the side; Ikura salmon roe which popped nicely and was not fishy and Tai snapper which was firm and excellent. I also had the Oyako donburi I always order too much which was rich and full of egg and chicken goodness. It was a generous portion. Apparently now in Chilliwack also, You could definitely do worse!
Coming home from work and needing some money, so I stopped by the bank and checked them out. Ordered the sashimi dinner box, started off OK. The sashimi appie good, would have preferred sockeye, but portions generous. Box very good and filling, only down side is the dry rice.
