Every Thursday, on my way home from work, make a stop at Loretta’s to pickup a poutine for our daughter. Great fries, curds and tasty gravy. Lots of everything and the price is right.
We first had lunch in the Lancaster Pizzaria, but the perch was so small and pricy we had to go to Loretta's for a perch roll to fill-up. There was twice as much perch for about 1/4 the price. Though Loretta's sauce leaves something to be desired. The roll was satisfying, non the less.
I made the mistake of reading the reviews before choosing to eat at this restaurant. I ordered a perch roll for myself and a perch platter for the rest of my family. The perch roll, priced at $7.50 plus tax, was disappointing. It consisted of a regular hot dog roll filled with fried perch and an overwhelming amount of a sickeningly sweet house sauce that had received positive reviews. Perhaps it would have been more enjoyable with tartar sauce and coleslaw instead. The $20 plus tax perch platter included a small cup of good coleslaw, tasty french fries, and a few small pieces of fried perch, accompanied by the same overpowering sweet sauce. I would recommend sticking to the fries and hot dogs, as they are likely a safer bet.
