Youngs Bbq&more - Lampasas

Want the worst service in Texas where the server treats you like a piece of **** for wanting to buy food at their store? Don't eat here. This place is the worst bbq place we have ever been to. Meat was fatty and the service was scary rude.

We made a trip from Sun City to Lampassas, Tx to eat at Young 's BBQ after seeing the restaurant on an episode of the Daytripper . We arrived after the lunchtime rush and ordered brisket, smoked Turkey , and jalapeño cheese sausage. The brisket was great with excellent smoky bark. The smoked Turkey was great. The sausage had a unique jalapeño/cheese and spice combination. We are really glad we saw the Daytripper episode and followed up with a day trip to Lampassas.

We love this place and really was heartbroken when it burned down at the old place; however, they reopened on Key Avenue and the food hasn't skipped a beat... it's still awesome!!

Needed a quick bite on the way through and saw the reviews. We loved it. I had Cajun Turkey, potato salad, and coleslaw. Husband had brisket with same sides. We absolutely loved it. Yes the bbq sauce is different but we found the meat so flavorful we didn't need it. The coleslaw was amazing and vinegar based, and yes the potato salad was fantastic. On top of everything else it's spotless.

You can smell the delicious smoked foods from the moment you step out of the car, and the environment just makes it 10x better! The staff is incredibly friendly and always checks to make sure we're doing alright and enjoying our orders. They have great fountain drink options and their BBQ sauce is so good! I went while they were serving bacon fried cabbage and I've never been the same. I have tried recreating it over and over but Young's BBQ takes the cake!!!!
