Quickchek - LAKE HOPATCONG

This is my favorite restaurant. Hope is incredibly friendly and always shows understanding and patience. She's the main reason I keep coming back. The service is quick, and you're fortunate to have Hope managing everything at the front.

Lady at check out counter is so miserable. I have bad arthritis in my hands had trouble getting my bills separated so I put them on the counter they were not handed to her so she proceed to say oh so this is how your going to give this to me ? How rude ! I in turn said that she was the only rude one and told her to keep the change and throw it in the donation bucket on the counter which she then proceeded to throw it in the garbage . I will be calling corporate.

Coffee is good here. Bathrooms are very clean. There are 2 free air pumps at this Quick Chek which helps if one is either being used or broken. It is also convenient that there are multiple self serve checkouts which helps speeds the flow of people in and out of the store.

Staff inside the store and outside at the gas tanks are very nice and helpful. The store has a very large stock of everything you need. Coffee is fresh. We have stopped off for soup and sandwhiches at the deli section. They do a surprisingly good job with their food. This store has a nice, small section to sit and eat in if you plan to stay for a bit rather than take your food to go. Restrooms have been clean when we stop off.

Last night at 7:30, I went to fill up my gas tank. I paid for the gas and instructed the attendant to fill it up. The pump stopped at $33.59, but the attendant didn’t shut it off right away and tried to charge me $34 instead. He did the same with the car next to mine, claiming he didn’t have the right change. Both of us insisted that he finish pumping the extra gas. Then he mentioned that he doesn’t like getting too close to the pump because he fears it might overflow. Either he’s misinformed—since gas pumps usually function properly—or he’s trying to skim some gas from customers. What exactly is going on here?
