Charley's Tavern - LAKE HOPATCONG

I had a great time here last month, but my experience took a turn for the worse tonight. The bouncers were quite rude and insisted that they couldn't accept out-of-state IDs. One even told me I was “lucky” they were returning mine. They didn't have a scanner to verify anything and made a big deal out of what should have been a non-issue. If you don’t have a New Jersey license, I suggest you think twice before coming here!

A group of us visited Charley's for lunch and drinks yesterday, and it was our first time there. We really enjoyed it! The atmosphere is fun, and we loved the outdoor space. They offer live entertainment, corn hole games, and comfortable seating areas. The service was excellent as well; our server managed everything by herself and did an outstanding job. We ordered the boat of onion rings, a Cobb salad, a French dip, a burger, and a steak sandwich. For drinks, we had sangria and a whiskey sour, both of which were very good. We will definitely return for more food and to enjoy the live entertainment!

I absolutely love this place! I didn't try the food, so I can't comment on that, but the atmosphere is fantastic and the live entertainment was perfect. I saw the band Duckface perform, and everyone was singing, dancing, and having a great time.

Charlie’s tavern is the best… nothing beats sitting outside by the fire pit and listening to live music. Amanda and her team have made the outside area feel like a comfortable backyard. Staff is great, appetizers and pub menu. I like the French Dip.

Awesome! 6 bartenders for 30 people bar, but there’s an outside too, my buddy scott whose a regular have been coming here for the last few months and the bartenders are so accurate so n orders and very quick! They have a backyard with fire pits and games, live music every week, definitely a local bar but if you come here and be nice to people you will be treated as a good friend, love it love it ! Calm down and be chill, the food is great, bar food so don’t expect gourmet, burgers are amazing, and you can get it anyway you want. I’ll be. Regular forever
