Customer service is always AMAZING! Tried the bbq pork steak plate lunch an it was pretty good. More on the baked side an covered with sauce. We also had to get another bag of soft a spicy cracklin which is always 10/10!!Food: 4/5

Very sweet owners, very good food, love there crackling and boudain. There is some sweet potato pies that are to die for too. All there smoked meat is amazing! Best place in lake Charles for BBQ, and unique southern sides. Steam boat bills food is nasty now so this is the go to now!Food: 5/5

Nastiest bbq I have EVER tasted. She said I would get 3 ribs, and they gave me 2 1/2. Cold old ribs. I should have asked for my money back when the lady said they were making them hot. Smh.... And I've never seen potato salad like that. Look at how its standing up and the color. Gross. Beans straight out the can. Save your money. Go somewhere else. They should go to Texas and try Pappas or Triple Js in Houston, and learn how bbq should taste and look. I'm so disappointed.

Always make sure to swing by here on our way from Dallas to Lake Charles to get their amazing cracklins, boudin, bbq chicken plate! We’ve tried 6 other places in the area and nobody can do cracklins like Famous Foods! Best to go EARLY to get the freshest ones before 3pm if you want to eat here. Otherwise they’re good but not AS good you’ll have to wait in the super long drive thru line. If you’re lucky enough to go when they have their gumbo, OMG! It is soooo GOOOOD!! Last time we went in Nov. got the last tub they had in their to-go freezer area. This time in March they didn’t have any at all, so it may just be seasonal??I wish they had nationwide shipping because I’d be ordering alllll the time!

If you haven’t tried their spicy cracklin, you are seriously missing out! It’s softer and the flavorful. We drive an hour just to get it. Make sure you get there early though. It sells out quickly and for good reason.Also, the bathroom is really clean.
