Bidra med feedbackWe enjoyed a really outstanding lunch on the beautiful and shady terrace of Auberge de Rivaz with view on the lake. I was surprised to find such a high quality restaurant in this small Swiss village. The quality of the food was really excellent and the staff took great care in making sure all our needs were met. The food is outstanding and beautifully presented. Portions are not that big though, so we had to order dessert after having finished our main course to make sure we had enough energy to continue our walk along the vineyards. To be honest the food is expensive, but the quality makes up for that.
Ours was an unplanned visit after a walk at Lavaux. We were treated very (very! hospitably by the staff, they even were so generous to let us try different wines. The seafood pasta was supreme. Very good, high quality food and a gorgeous view of the surroundings to round it all off. Another plus is that it is conveniently located right next to the train station.
The room is OK but the shower needs renovation. There is no AC and street/rail is very noisy. Parking lot is fairly small so we had to park on the street and move the car after 8 hours.
We spent our wedding weekend in this lovely hotel with a breathtaking view of the lake (or vineyards) from the rooms. Everything was perfect since the moment we arrived. We were well welcomed by the hotel managers. The internal design is elegant and with a good taste. The breakfast is tasty and abundant. The dinner was so delicious that we decided to have our wedding reception for 15 people in their charming restaurant. The staff arranged a dedicated beautiful table in an exclusive room only for us. The service was impeccable, especially our waiter Guled was excellent and attentive to all our guests. We couldn’t hope for a better experience.
Definitely not worth the high price. The rooms are partly furnished with newer furniture which is fine, but the bathroom gives hostel or 1-star hotel vibes. One square meter, claustrophobic, moldy, dirty shower curtain and even the unused towels are constantly damp. Having to use the bathroom is very unpleasant, it is in desperate need of a renovation and expansion. Or decrease the price of a night there. There are no kettles in the room. The breakfast is served (a tray of cheese and ham with 4 pieces of baguette and two croissants) which can get repetitive if you stay several nights. I have to agree with many reviews that it’s very loud due to the location next to a main road and railway. Also have to agree that the owner is a bit arrogant, I asked her for a new bar of soap because the cleaning staff took ours and didn’t replace it and she seemed annoyed and bothered by me. Clarice at breakfast is very kind and helpful and lovely to talk to though. The view and terrace are very nice. There is a cute beach nearby. We did not eat at the restaurant so I cannot comment on that.
