Au Moulin Du Chateau - La Rochefoucauld

I recommend this establishment very tasty cuisine good value price we have had a good time

We were a bit late getting to town for lunch and Chez Steph was full, so we decided to give Au Moulin a go. Unfortunately I think we caught them on a bad day the goats’s cheese salad was a lot of lettuce, a few bits of bacon, chopped tomatoes and three bits of cheese on toasted baguette. Not great and not great value.

Beautifully converted mill, opposite the chateau. Wonderful location, excellent food service. We ate there at lunch time it was pleasantly busy. I had the plat du jour which was pork in a lovely sauce with pasta a roasted tomato absolutely delicious. My husband had the entrecôte thought it one of the best he’d had. Lots of choice on the menu a good wine list with several wines available by the glass. Very reasonably priced excellent value.

Wonderful location overlooking the River tardoire (when it has water in it) the property has been renovated with style and quality. The food was excellent and so was the service. Very friendly and efficient staff. This was our second visit in just over a week and there will certainly be more.
