Claim Jumper Steakhouse La Mesa

The staff members working the night we dined at the Claim Jumper were pleasant, attentive, professional, and very friendly. We had a very enjoyable meal, including a great salad bar selection, delicious grilled chicken tri tip, a perfect loaded baked potato, and the best carrot cake! 

Haven't been to Claim Jumper in many years. Lots has changed. Service was great, steaks were prohibitively expensive. Ended up eating a sandwich instead. Tri-tip sandwich was good, but across the board everything seemed under-seasoned except the meat in the sandwich. From the appetizer bread to the pasta and fish. It's like someone said “no more salt” or something. It was “fine” but we won't be coming back anytime soon. Steaks were about double the cost of Texas Roadhouse for a slightly shabbier and outdated experience.

The staff were great and the seating was done promptly. We chose because of the variety on the menu. It met that expectation. The food is ‘meh' but it's good enough to satisfy everyone. We would come again for a similar large group that we know we can please. Thank you to the staff, though, they were fantastic!
