The food here is excellent. Get the Butternut Squash Ravioli in the Crème walnut sauce you will thank me for it. Start with the bread, share the grilled Romaine salad with the most amazing tangie vinaigrette, choose any entree, you can not go wrong and have a cocktail. This is my favorite Italian in SD!
The food at Piattis is amazingly delicious, the best Italian food outside Italy!
Fantastic food, best Italian restaurant! Service professional while friendly , attention to details throughout course of meal. Everyone so nice, wonderful atmosphere ate in garden area outside . Never rushed . Quiet, even with a number of tables near by, spread out enough. Very pretty outside patio with the big tree. Always the place to bring friends /family visiting from out of town or special occasions ! Everyone’s favorite, never disappointed !!! The bread with their special dipping sauce is an absolute must before meal begins!
Our food and service were outstanding. What was exceptional, however, was how they handled a simple mistake. My wife ordered a dish which incorporates a variety of seafood, including shrimp. She explained to the waiter that she was severely allergic to shrimp and requested that additional calamari be substituted for it. They readily agreed, but when the meal arrived, it clearly contained the entire normal shrimp component. When we called that to the attention of the waiter, he unhesitatingly acknowledged his error and removed the plate he had delivered. He returned quite soon with a corrected entrée, no shrimp, extra calamari) and told us that the dish would be taken off our check. This was not requested by us and had been provided entirely voluntarily by Piatti’s. We would have been satisfied with the prompt correction of the mistake. We doubt that any other restaurant would have handled the situation better. Piatti’s has earned this review and our loyalty. By the way, did I mention that they provided a generous wine “pour“ and that the famous fresh bread and proprietary dipping sauce was out of this world? How do we REALLY feel about Piatti’s?
