Jaxdog Café Books - La Grande

Due to snow and road closures, I found myself stopping in La Grande and discovered this gem of a restaurant. The food is fantastic! The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is superb. As a book lover, I was in paradise—I even found some old astrology books. Next time I pass through La Grande, I’ll be on the lookout for some great food and a chance to dive into those books again.

The food was stunning and extraordinarily delicious. I enjoyed the Roasted Beet salad, the wild rice and mushroom soup, and the ganache bars. The homemade bread was among the best I've ever had. Everything was fantastic. They also offer a wide selection of books at reasonable prices, along with unique gifts, and you can purchase gift cards as well.

The dining experience is excellent, and the ambiance is wonderful. They truly understand that we are all free individuals in charge of our own destinies, which is surprisingly rare to find. JaxDog is one of the finest gems in Union County.

What a wonderful find on our way through town from Portland. The food was fresh and delicious, it tasted like all the vegetables had been picked right from the farm moments earlier. Loved the diverse and eclectic book selection that allows you to read a bit as you wait for your food. I'm sad I put a book back while eating, because when I went to pick it to buy afterwards, someone had gotten to it before me! Lovely spot, looking forward to visiting again on our way.
