For the little Japanese I know that the staff is well versed in English, which made it even easier, at the first visit the cook offered a council for a patron and his English sounded better than mine. Both visits to this facility were delicious. The menu is short, but sweet, many options and a cooking course that serves 5 plates with each explains what you eat, If you are in the area, this restaurant is definitely a place you should visit!
Visited Saijiki for the new year! I reserved for IKYU and ordered the course meal. The meal was fascinating as the aromas were powerful with the freshest ingredients. Thanks for the great meal.
After the poking around options in the neighborhood, decided to give this place an attempt, and it was such a good decision. We went with the choice of the boss and it was great. Each dish was carefully prepared before us, explained by the two cooking team, and each one was fantastic. The dishes were correspondingly small and at the end of 8 courses I was comfortably filled. The drinks went well with the meal and the chefs were sweet, charming, and we could chat with the little Japanese we knew and the English they knew. Great discovery! Gochisosama deshita!
Great place to experience a Kaiseki meal at a reasonable price. The cook is beautiful, speaks English and you can see that he prepares your meals before the bar.
Lovely multi course meal from this small, two chef kaiseki restaurant. We had about eight courses, all different and beautifully prepared. It was a very gaijin friendly restaurant, with both chefs having decent English. The sake was good too. This is a great choice if you want kaiseki food at a reasonable price.
