4.0 Very Good<br/ <br/ I love street food and as I didn’t really get to try this last time I was in Korea, I feel blessed gems like this exist.<br/ <br/ I got their potato, mozzarella and sausage chunky which was made to order and freshly deep fried. Once it pops out you’ve got a range of sauces to coat it in, I got what was recommended, a dusting of sugar and a combination of tomato sauce and mild mustard (it said honey mustard on the instructions). It was crusty and not overly oily, the first bite on top came with some stretchy mozzarella cheese and then you hit the standard Frankfurt sausage. The batter was a bit underdone and gave it a nice doughy texture, I really enjoyed it.<br/ <br/ On the side I got some of their chunky chips (waffle fries), crispy and lightly dusted in some sort of paprika seasoning. Delicious.<br/ <br/ I’m delighted that they’ve also opened up a newer and even larger shop in QV as well as having their sights in Melbourne Central. What that means is that a late night snack is always around the corner!
Chunky town is located right in front of flinders street station. Contrary to common perception, they are not hotdogs but rather sausage sticks! <br/ <br/ I went for the maggi, cheddar and cheese sausage stick while my partner went for the potato one. You can also add as much sauce as you want to elevate your snack experience. Don’t think one should sprinkle sugar on the stick though. I enjoyed the crunchy noodle exterior (reminded me of a childhood snack called Mamee), but the sausage itself was quite standard. Slathering it with sauces also means that the meal could get messy. Wished there was a few seating spaces for us to enjoy the meal too we had to eat while walking around town. Otherwise, it’s an ideal snack for train commuters!<br/ <br/ Taste: <br/ Ambience: <br/ Presentation: <br/ Price: <br/ Service:
Finally got to try Chunky Town, and it seriously exceeded my expectations. I had the original Sausage Chunky it was super crispy on the outside, and the batter was surprisingly very light and fluffy! I love how customisable it is with all the different types of sauces, and I’d definitely recommend trying it with sugar too! I also tried their Chunky Balls (Oreo flavour) which was served with a light and refreshing vanilla soft serve. The balls themselves were very light and chewy, almost a little bit like mochi. I had a Lychee Fruit Tea to wash it all down which was delightful. Definitely recommend checking them out! Plus, they’re opening a new store in QV soon!
So good! Love the combo of cheese and the sausage! Good selection from the menu and definitely reminds me of the fried cheese sausage hotdogs we had in Seoul.
