Bidra med feedbackI discovered this cafe on Groupon before realising it was a 10 minute walk from my house. I was warmly greeted by the waiter/barista who made me a great soy flat white and chatted to me about how tricky it is to make one without the milk splitting. He also accomdated my request to swap the toast on the big veg brekkie for arepas, one of my favourite carbs. The meal itself left a little to be desired. I wish it had some cracked pepper, and the veg were too oily for my liking. I also realised after the fact that the chef forgot the beans, which probably would've added the flavour the dish was lacking. I didn't really need them considering how full I was after that meal, but still a bit disappointed I missed out. I also think a cheese arepa would've been better with the dish, but I was given a plain one.<br/ <br/ Despite these concerns, I can't fault Buenos Dias too much. As a Latin person, I'm constantly seeking new Latin restaurants in Melb. They're hard to come by here and I want to support any that exist. Secondly, the staff were super friendly here which also encourages me to give them the benefit of the doubt. I believe this cafe is still pretty new, and they're only open Fridays and weekends. Hopefully with a few tweaks and some more recognition, they can thrive.
Friendly staff and a really nice feel to the place. The menu has enough on offer but not so much you're overwhelmed. Both our dishes were great. The salsa verde was the bomb.
This place is great in that it offers a bit of variation from the standard 'brunch ' menu, and it was nice to see some of my favourite South American foods on the menu. I enjoyed my meal (Heuvos Pericos) but it could have done with a bit more flavour. My friend said her food was really good. Coffee was terrific. The service also let the side down a bit the staff were friendly but forgot my order. The ambiance was nice and overall we enjoyed ourselves.
