Wan Thai Langkawi - Kuah

We went twice and each time we were impressed with the food, the service, the nice space, and the low prices. For US $18, we had one small Tom Yan soup, one small chicken stir fry with basil and garlic, a small stir fry with shrimp paste, as well as one dessert. The outdoor seating was good for us.

We found this place by chance, just passing through, and as it was lunch time, we decided to park and eat, as it looked quite decent from the outside. We were not disappointed, the service was efficient and the food was good and plentiful with decent portions. Very friendly cashier as well, they seemed very pleased that we came from the UK.

The food is worthwhile to line up and get inside. The service staff is very young and clearly inexperienced. Don't be surprised when you a soup without bowls and spoons. The dishes come randomly and with large delays between. They don't ask if the drinks should be replenished and forget repeatedly add on orders. Nevertheless the food itself is delicious. However I will not return, the price service ratio does not match. Clearly Wonderland food store satisfied me more as it is equal in fine food but performs better at lower price.

Food not worth the hype or the price. The quintessential Thai dishes like tomyam (we ordered tomyam in coconut) and basil chicken are very disappointing. The tomyam was all sugary sweet and chilli spice without its signature tang, and the basil chicken tastes like chillies and nothing else. The three flavoured fish arrived almost 1 hour after ordering. The deep fried dishes like squid in batter and fried softshell crabs in garlic are good. Service was unenthusiastic and prices are relatively high. There are better places to spend your money on for good Thai food. The only thing Thai about this place is its decor. Will not recommend.

I booked on 6:30pm one day before, but went we arrived the shop is close till 6:45pm. We are the first one went in, but the staff took other customer order. I feel so disrespect, but I still keep quiet. After they took my order, I wait there more than a hour, but there still doing other customer food. I went to ask the staff and they told me they came first. I feel so sad then I pay for my drink and I left. Not recommend, and will NEVER go there again. This experience make me feel my whole trip was suck.
