Bidra med feedbackThese people know how to make karaage chicken! It?s juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside and just amazing! I stumbled onto this place from the Bellevue Farmers market. They had a food truck there and the line was insane! Being curious, I just had to try it. It was around $15 for the chicken plate which comes with salad and rice. But they ran out of rice so I got fries which is what I would?ve preferred anyway! One bonus is the portion sizes are huge! I easily this into two meals and steamed my own rice to make it stretch. I would def come back for the chicken!
OMG everything was so good! Traditional karage is really juicy and soft while the skin remains crispy. Hawaiian karage has a sweet and sour sauce. Galbi was surprisingly good very juicy and thick meat. Definitely have the chopped salad also very delicious and refreshing. Will be very happy to visit again!
I had high expectations and was still pleasantly surprised. It?s a little bit on the pricier side but 100% worth every penny. The chicken is crispy even when coated in sauce, the salad is delicious with apples, cheese, ham, onion, etc, not just lettuce and dressing. I really appreciate the use of compostable to-go ware (although I don?t know what they use for forks/knives, I got chopsticks). The choice to buy eco-friendly boxes and utensils definitely makes me want to choose this restaurant over others. I didn?t dine in but the restaurant seemed very clean and put together and the staff was friendly. I will definitely come back!
Overall: I would definitely go back and try more of the menu! FOOD: Pork Belly Bao $4 (pork belly slow braised in soy and mirin, fresh slaw, hoisin peanut sauce, served on a Chinese steamed bun): I did not enjoy this bao which is hard for me since I love bao! There was too much of everything else and not enough pork belly. The piece of pork belly was so thin and small that you barely tasted it. Combo Plate Chicken Karaage and Hawaiian Fried Chicken $15 (Karaage boneless fried chicken with sweet and tangy house sauce; Fried Chicken boneless fried chicken with garlic sesame soy chili sauce): Both the karaage and Hawaiian fried chicken was very good. The chicken were fried pretty well but most of the crispiness disappears due to the sauce coated on the outside. The flavor was there but not the crispiness but that is partly my fault for expecting Japanese style karaage. Chop Chop Salad (romaine heart, ham, apples, tomato, cilantro, red onions, parmesan, and provolone cheese): No price as this is included with any plate item. I liked but didnt like the salad (if that makes sense). There is a lot of dressing as its fully coated every item in the salad which is actually a huge plus to me BUT I'm not a fan of ham or fruit being in my salad. Da Hilo Boy Burger $14 (Loco moco burger charred beef patty, caramelized onion, smoked bacon confit, mushroom, and fried egg): The burger is huge and looked extremely good. I did not eat this as someone else in our party had it. They enjoyed the burger a lot said the flavor and texture was on point. Kimchi Fried Rice $15.50 (kimchi, smoked bacon, caramelized onion, fried egg): I did not have this but it looked extremely delicious and the person in our group said its something they ordered repeatedly. Chicken Karaage Kids Meal $6 (boneless fried chicken with sweet and tangy house sauce, served with fries). RESTAURANT/INTERIOR: Clean and minimal restaurant. They didnt have the full seating due to the pandemic (I assume). If its a concern to anyone, they did not space the tables 6 feet apart which is fine as the restaurant is pretty small. There was one row of tables on one side of the restaurant that was not available for seating. The restaurant did provide disposable tissue next to every door (main door and restrooms) for customers to use so no one has to touch the handles directly. STAFF: Everyone was friendly. The front of the house team was pretty much on top of everything knew regulars by name, delivered the food and also offered to get utensils and napkins for each person, etc. My only issue with the team was food service was kind of slow. I'm not sure if its due to short staff or a lot of to go orders but when we first ordered and sat down, I noticed none of the tables had their food and the restaurant was pretty full.
The food is FANTASTIC!! Very good quality and quantity, well worth the money! Freshly made and the taste was like a 5 star restaurant. Will definitely be coming back soon. The chop salad is very, very good along with Karaage chicken and the Hawaiian chicken!
