Gadgie Burger

I placed an order at 7:30 pm with an estimated delivery time of 8:10 to 8:30. However, I received a text saying it would be 8:30 to 8:50. By 9:10, the order still hadn't arrived, so my husband went to the restaurant only to find it closed. We assumed the order was not coming, but then received another text saying it would be delivered by 9:40. It finally arrived after 10 pm. The delivery driver mentioned they were short-staffed, which seems to be a common issue based on reviews. The chips and onion rings were okay, but the burger was surprisingly delicious and fresh, which is why I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1. Overall, the service was not acceptable.

I ordered 4 meals through the Uber Eats app. I was forced to add a tip before I could pay. After waiting for nearly 80 minutes, we thought our order hadn't arrived. We tried calling Gadgie Burger but couldn't get through. We went to the help section on the app and selected the option for a missing delivery. They told us to check outside or in a safe place. We found our order dumped outside our front door, without any notification that it had arrived. The food was cold. We wasted almost £40 and will not be using this service again.

James, the staff member I spoke to, was rude and unhelpful. He suggested that I should have just accepted a new order instead of asking for a refund. He had a dismissive attitude and told me to deal with Uber, even though Uber could not help since Gadgie delivers their own food. The restaurant refused to refund my order, even after I offered to return to the location and receive cash instead. The lack of concern for customer satisfaction, combined with late delivery, cold food, and poor service, has left me very disappointed. It is concerning that the owner was not present, especially considering he was reportedly sick with COVID. This experience has deterred me from ordering from this restaurant again.

Fantastic tasting food, varied menu, served quickly, gadgie burger is lush. Definitely recommend and staff real friendly.

Mine and hubbies first time ordering, food was around 20 minutes late, but I didn't mind especially as it's the weekend and take aways can generally be busier. Food was still warm, I very much enjoyed the pizza fries and was surprised by how much was given. Yet the burgers were not plesant, size portions were good but the patties tasted strangely like a mince dinner, without draining the fat. The fat, grease unfortantely lingered for a while and it was a little diffcult to get rid of, sadly not a place I would re-visit.
