The breakfast at this restaurant was fantastic, but unfortunately, it was slightly overshadowed by the smell coming from the neighboring elderly man. Despite this, I would still recommend this place. I suggest sitting at the tables that are raised and not easily accessible to those with disabilities.
The food at this restaurant is truly spectacular and the staff is lovely. I had a cheese and ham toastie with salad, along with a cup of coffee, while my partner had a toastie with salad. The food was very fresh and served quickly. The atmosphere was amazing and the restaurant and café were very clean. There was a wide variety of food and drinks to choose from, and the toilets were clean. The place was welcoming and spacious, with plenty of seating. It's great value for money, with generous portions and a fantastic atmosphere. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it.
Called in today for a late lunch as had passed earlier and it looked busy so thought must be good. Run out of my first choice of quiche so ended up with an egg sandwich and a tuna and cheese melt with 2 coffees. Food arrived quite quickly but I couldn’t find a fork so asked for this but unfortunately not forthcoming so had to eat my salad with fingers. Egg sandwich was more cheap mayo than egg. The tuna and cheese melt was on a bread cake but whenever had these before it is usually on a baguette style bread. The breadcake was soggy and could just fold in half. I felt sorry for the staff as obviously not enough of them as tables still full of empty pots. Don’t think we will be visiting again.
We recently visited this restaurant for lunch, curious about what to expect after its reopening. The cafe was moderately busy and the decor remained the same as before, appearing clean. The menu seemed unchanged as well. My mother's all day breakfast looked appetizing, but my cheese and mushroom melt was simply a basic toasted sandwich with a small side salad and coleslaw. The portion was small considering the price of £5.50, although the food was of good quality. The cappuccino had an 'over roasted' aftertaste. Despite arriving early for lunch, there was a limited selection of cakes. The handwritten notes scattered around gave the place a slightly amateurish feel. Overall, our experience was not as enjoyable as it used to be when the restaurant was owned by Couplands bakery. I hope that this honest review can contribute to future improvements.
