Gianni's Cafe - Kildeer

The lunch salads were very good. The service was excellent. Cozy atmosphere.

Excellent food and service. My friend and I stayed for a long lunch and we never felt pressured to leave. The staff were friendly and our waiter provided excellent service. It was my first time having been there and I plan on returning.

Gianni's is a great place for dinner but also for a late afternoon charcuterie board and wine. Expertly prepared and served by Kyle, he was friendly and accommodating. Nice to know they are now open for lunch, too

Good news first. I really enjoy the food here. It is always fresh and well prepared. The pasta is never dry and the salad is never brown and old. My one knock on the food was the dessert described as chocolate mint gelato which I’m betting was Breyers mint chocolate chip ice cream. There are some things about the place that are just not enjoyable. It is unbelievably cramped. The entry is non existent. You walk in and you’re faced with the host stand and bar. So if you have to wait and others walk in you are on top of one another. Your only other choice is to live in from of the bar and then you are in the way of the servers. The tables are way too close together. Our table was right at the entrance to the patio and my chair was hit 13 times. I had to laugh because the owners didn’t care about that fact when the sat the edge of the table right at the door jam leaving the chair in the entrance. The noise is deafening so if you want to carry on a conversation bring throat lozenges because your throat will be sore trying to be heard. I’m the plus side, the place is clean and tidy. While our server was sweet and doing her best, she was frazzled and it showed. She did the best she could as did the other wait support staff. I’m told there is another location in Palatine and I’m hoping that has a better set up.
