Bidra med feedbackAfter he had never visited haworth, it was a gamble where we went for our evening meal. we chat for the old hall, and what a decision that is as amazing eating, great personal and friendly atmosphere all set in a rustic charm...with great open fires and an authentic finish. we will definitely come back here at our next visit and would recommend everyone in the opposite, to go, they will not be disappointed.
Visited here after the ghost race. we were absolutely freezing, but soon we warmed up here. the people were beautiful, eating was great and they even had dog food on the menu (for dogs naturally), highly recommended for the atmosphere, friendly staff and good eating.
Had a drink here with two young children, two big parents and lated on the way back to the accommodation in our first night. in contrast to the black bull (we were later turned away rudely in the week because of the two children or maybe. the great haworth old hall is child-friendly. at least here eaten twice in our week in haworth. both male was eating very good and service friendly attentive. highly recommended. shand over the other facility, since haworth is a beautiful place to stay
Eating was great what makes a difference the staff! the young girl was very attentive and looked like she did everything. the work.
First impressions were “wow” this place is cosy, stunning and welcoming, oh how wrong our experience would be! When we were seated we were greeted by a server who kindly took our drinks order, our drinks were brought to the table around minutes after...we ordered, the establishment was about half capacity it’s worth noting! When our drinks arrived the first thing the server said was, before you order we need to tell you what we don’t have, we have no roast beef or pork Sunday lunches left (these were the anyway other than nut roast on the menu) it was only when we sat down!! This was followed by her saying we also have no steak fillets and no steak and ale pie these were pretty much the dishes we had all decided on so had to quickly rethink what we wanted! (They should really tell you this before you order a full round of drinks Incase you would rather go elsewhere for food you want) Anyway…. of us ordered the toad not in the hole , we ordered the food at and that was that…. During this time tables had arrived next to us, ordered and received their food long before we did. We assumed it was due to a table of ordering as to why we were still waiting mins later…… After waiting minutes from ordering, my partner asked one of the waitresses (having been ignored twice before) where our food was, she went to check and lord behold the food arrived. This was where the fun started ……. The food clearly had been sat on the hot plate for sometime slowly cooking more and more, my partner ordered the cheese and onion pie and was simply mush covered with extremely over cooked brown pastry, cremated chips and some slaw thrown on the top. The burger that came was just about warm enough, so wasn’t too bad according to my friend. Now…. The sausage and mash …. What an insult that was, an extremely flat, cremated , airless Yorkshire pudding thrown on the side of the lumpy dry shrivelled pile of mash, dried up green beans and cardamon tasting carrots. Watered down thin tasteless gravy and mushy sausage. Tasteless and bland even with the addition on mustard and salt, Absolutely vile and inedible and at for sausage and a blob of mash was extortion and day light robbery. Safe to say we didn’t stay very long, when the waitress came to ask how the meal was (first and final time) , I basically looked at my plate (still full) and said it wasn’t worth the money and tasted of nothing, she simply said erm ok I’ll tell the kitchen and proceeded to take the food away, no apology or nothing! When the bill came, it came to for meals and drinks. I told the waitress that we were not paying for the sausage and mash and told her to take the bill away and sort it out. The bill returned with of the meals taken off, which we questioned yet again as they were shocking. The bill went away for the second time and returned with both taken off, again no apology and the manager was not seen once. We paid the bill and made a swift exit and will not be returning which is a shame as the building and establishment itself was stunning and homely and warm and cosy! What a poor end to what we assumed was going to be a delicious meal, the wait was ridiculous and I wouldn’t have minded about the time if the place wasn’t half empty and that the food when it arrived was worth the wait! Dissatisfied to say the least.
