Pilot Travel Center - Kearney

Clean travel stop just off the interstate. Entering this place is a little confusing if coming from the other direction. Inside you can buy snacks, drinks, and other goods. They have bathrooms and hot-food items as well. Great parking for large trucks andregular parking for cars.

Lots of parking, easy access, 5 pumps opened 12 30pm..

I was employed at this location for a little over a year, and for the first time, I felt like I was growing, learning, and working my way up. Unfortunately, a lot of personal issues arose, including a death. When I reached out for help with everything I was going through and couldn't even get change for my register, it was disheartening. I called and texted my manager multiple times, even apologizing for my situation. I was considering clocking out and taking my bad mood home when I received a message that I had been fired. I truly loved working here, even though it often felt like I was being given false hope. They build you up but then don't support you. Overall, it’s very disappointing. I’d still give it a 2 because, in some areas, the job was decent. I wanted to be proud to be part of this team, but in the end, I was left feeling let down and disappointed.

The convenience store section was excellent—clean, organized, and well-stocked, with helpful and friendly staff, just as you would expect from Pilot/Flying J. However, my experience at Taco Bell was a different story. I had to catch my food before it slid off the counter and onto the floor. When I took my meal out of the bag, lettuce and tomatoes ended up on the floor. The tortillas on my soft tacos were so hard that they started breaking apart. I shouldn't have to wear a bib to enjoy soft tacos and a chalupa. I haven't dined here in years due to poor service, and I was hoping that things had improved. Unfortunately, it seems that the staff still doesn't care about their jobs. I won’t be returning.

I stopped by for fuel and to use the Cat Scale. This Pilot location is consistently clean, well-staffed, and well-stocked. The manager was very friendly and even went out of his way to fill my water cooler with ice. Thank you!
