The restaurant previously had a cooking menu, but they changed their offerings just a week ago. However, we were still able to request the old menu, and it was delicious! While the restaurant is on the pricier side, it is always worth it. The staff is wonderful, and they have an extensive wine selection. Visa all feedback.
I had a very nice salmon salad for lunch with captivating dips and dressings. Flavoured water, tea, and coffee were part of the deal. Also lentils, cucumber, dried corn, potato dips, and bread unlimited. All for 100SEK, very nice!
The fish soup was simply disappointing, and the toast on top was so burnt that it was inedible. Someone from the kitchen, the waitstaff, or any team member should have noticed this, but it seems they didn't.
The dining area overlooks the harbor through expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, and on this late winter/early spring evening, the view of the fog-shrouded harbor was hauntingly beautiful. I started my meal with a lobster soup served with scallop dumplings, acidulated papaya, and squid mayo, paired with a recommended Walnut Block Collectables wine from Marlborough, New Zealand. The combination of the food and wine was nothing short of spectacular. The soup was rich and salty, brimming with ocean flavor, and the tender dumplings alongside the subtly sweet wine created an incredible harmony. For my main course, I chose white wine poached turbot accompanied by fried dark rye bread, acidulated shallots, kale, and Brandade, a unique type of potato mixture. This dish was paired with a 2015 Bourgogne Couvent des Jacobins Chardonnay. While some Chardonnays can be overly sweet and oily, this one was more acidic, complementing the meaty and rich turbot beautifully. It was another delicious dish, although it didn’t leave me as awestruck as the starter. To finish, I opted for a white chocolate mousse paired with lemon sorbet and a caffe latte, which rounded off the meal perfectly. Overall, I must say that this restaurant left a lasting impression on me. From the beautiful decor and inviting dining area to the attentive and friendly staff—our waiter was truly exceptional—the quality of the food and the excellent wine pairings make this place a standout in my book. Normally, I have difficulty avoiding meat when dining out, but at a restaurant dedicated to fish and situated right on the water, I felt it was worth letting go of that habit, and I’m so glad I did. This place is all about fish, and they treat their ingredients with the respect they deserve. So, as the author Douglas Adams once said: "So long, and thanks for all the fish!"
I visited this restaurant twice this week during my trip to my hometown, Karlskrona, and I was truly impressed by how excellent it is, particularly for seafood. I ordered the turbot on one occasion and the shellfish platter on another, and both dishes showcased incredibly fresh and well-prepared seafood. The wine selection was excellent, and the service was top-notch. I also had the crème brûlée for dessert, which was delicious. My extended family thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. I highly recommend this restaurant if you find yourself in my hometown.
Fresh fish, complimentary coffee during lunch, and excellent pizza topped with pine nuts. Plus, they have a sparkling water machine!
