Eat Chef George - Kapaa

Had a great lunch between our kayak rental in the village of Kamokila. The truck was broken, but George was still there and made us a fantastic lambburger and razor ice cream. Top Notch and a great stop on the Wailua River.

My wife and I were in Kauai for our 5th wedding party and found George of Da Jungle on one of our hiking adventures. George and his new wife were incredibly welcoming, friendly and funny! We had an amazing gyro and then took a bath near the river. It was one of our favorite memories of the trip!

I appreciate the reliable and simple yet incredible meals Chef George provided during my three-week stay. It’s free to eat under the main pavilion in Kamokila Hawaiian Village, though there is a $5 entrance fee to explore the beautifully maintained grounds of this preserved authentic Hawaiian village. It’s also a great spot to take children for kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding on the Wailua River.

Great little place for ingenious food. A big secret, but not long! With short ribs, local fish, lamb, mixed with Hawaiian and Asian ingredients. Inspired.

An unexpected surprise. We pulled up the the food truck expecting sub-par food but were presented with quality burgers and sweet potato fries.
