Westside Local LLC - Kansas City

What a fun venue! I'm always looking for restaurants with a good selection for my vegan friend and the Westside local fills that void. Although reservations are recommended we arrived Sunday for brunch without any and were seated in less than 10 minutes. Mat , at the front was very helpful and welcoming. Our waitress, Hannah was great! She was very friendly , knowledgeable and efficient. Even though the place was jumping (and a bit loud) she never acted or made us feel rushed quite the contrary she made us feel quite welcome like regulars. The food was fantastic! My friend ordered the biscuits and gravy, mushroom gravy with no meat. I had the country Benny and it was great! We lucked out with a parking space right by the door otherwise the street parking is very limited. Highly recommend. I am sure to return soon. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

Had Chefs Board which was great selection of cheese, meat, fruit and sauces. Sriracha Honey Fried Chicken Sammy was way too hot. Honey did not cool it down. Lips burned for quite awhile.

We’ve been here several times. It’s easily one of our favorites in town. It’s simple, delicious food without pretense or a high price tag. The tomatoes shine in the BLT, the mac and cheese is top notch, and the burger and fries are on the shortlist for best in town. Tonight I had the chicken piccata skewers with fried artichokes and mushroom lemon and caper rice, and it was excellent. So are the cocktails. They have a beautiful outdoor space, as well. Equally fitting for a special night out or just a casual meal. If you haven’t been here yet, do yourself a favor and go.

My partner and I grabbed lunch here and we’re seated immediately. Friendly staff, great food with several vegetarian and vegan options. Cozy vibes.
