Bidra med feedbackThe interior features an open front and a central bar, with standard bench-style picnic table seating fitting the theme. I would advise sticking to beer for your drinks; they attempt some quirky wine-based cocktails but neglect to mention that their liquor license only allows for beer and wine. So, if you order a Mojito or Moscow Mule, expect a wine-based version instead of the usual spirits—you’ll be left wondering why they even bother. Overall, I find myself coming here when I’m in the mood for a brat and not much else.
The menu features some intriguing food options, but the execution falls short. The cheesy spätzle was just mediocre—an interesting idea, but not well executed. On my second visit, I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, and again, it was just okay. It's worth noting that meals come with chips, but fries are an extra charge. Both times I visited, there was live music. The first performer wasn’t great, but the music on the second night was enjoyable. However, it can get quite loud, so if you're hoping to have a conversation, this might not be the best spot. Overall, DAS Beer Garden is a fantastic place to grab a beer or two, as their selection is extensive. If I return in the future, I would probably stick to the drinks rather than the food.
Every time we visit this restaurant, we find ourselves saying that we need to come here more frequently. The food is consistently excellent, and tonight we even ventured to try some new dishes! We really appreciate the variety of beers, ciders, and other beverages available. They encourage you to sample something before making a decision, which is a nice touch. This evening, we enjoyed a fruity hop brew called Wops Hops and an Imperial Stout known as Husband's Cave, both of which were fantastic. There were plenty of tables available, so we were able to get a spot before Game 7 of the NBA playoffs. The setup allows you to serve yourself water and order at the bar, which runs smoothly! The service is prompt and friendly. Alex, the owner, was hard at work but took the time to chat with us, and we definitely appreciated that. We’re now loyal fans! Best of all? This is THE BEST place to catch all the big games! The atmosphere is laid-back and super welcoming, especially for families with kids. It's just an awesome neighborhood hangout!
My wife asked me what I wanted for dinner and I said I wanted some good German food. We were up in PSL but she did a search and had this little gem on her bookmarks. It was the only German place open around lunch so we figured we'd make the drive. It was so worth it! I opted for the DAS Bavaria and enjoyed a couple of beers while we were there. It's a seat yourself type of place and there's no wait service but the bartenders are great. Your order up at the bar and make sure to get a beer when tou order your food! Great concept. They give you a number and a food runner brings out your food when it's ready. I enjoyed a beer while I waited and then a band started setting up. The live music was a little loud, even sitting outside but it was a great atmosphere. Our toddler had fun and we went on to enjoy Abacoa after eating. Definitely highly recommended. Food, atmosphere, service and drinks were all great!
We've now dined at the beer garden twice. The first time was last week when I messed up my calendar entries I mistakenly thought our school fundraiser event was last week...but oops it was today! Both times we visited, there was live music. Last week it was entirely too loud and unpleasant to my ears also, somewhat worse because we had the kids with us. This week it was so much better re: noise level and I generally liked the music better. We sat outside both times, there is ample seating and the seating not under the awning has nice large umbrellas to protect from sun and rain. Ordering food was quick and easy order at the bar). Food came out remarkably fast which is excellent because we were hungry! So far my kids have had the hot dogs, the quesadillas, and the chicken bites. Everything has looked great and for the most part my kids have done a good job on eating their meals. None of us liked the chips that come standard so we've been subbing out for fries $2 extra). I don't love their fries but they are much better than the chips, and they taste great with ranch $0.50 extra). I had the Brussels sprouts appetizer both times. It isn't my favorite way I've had them prepared but it is the simplest thing on the menu for me to eat and they do taste good, they're just heavier than I would prefer since they are coated in cheese. I have had a glass of house wine at each of my visits. At my first visit the pour seemed especially generous. Overall we have had good experiences and I really appreciate that they work with our school for these fundraisers. I don't eat much German food in general but if you do I think they do a good job. Be prepared for loud music and you'll have a good time.
