Bidra med feedbackI will start my review with positives- I ordered lunch special drunken noodles that comes with soup or salad. The food was good, taste wise it had kick as it should have. I liked it, not the best imo. The bad part of the place is that the salad was missing from the package. I didn't check until I brought it back to work. The carry bag was stapled so I didn't bother to open it. By the time I almost finished my meal, I found a bug in my food. So, I could not finish rest of my food and trashed it. The lady probably owner, was not very pleasing. She seemed a little bit rude. I can ignore some of things but the bug situation threw me off. I cannot deal with a restaurant that serves unhygienic food.
Sky Thai is a nice cozy spot with a lot of potential. The ambiance is inviting with it's warm colors and decent sized seating. It's a self serve restaurant in disguise of a full service one. You even need to clean up your table after your meal. Food wise it's really good. An excellent menu with options for everyone including vegetarians. Once ordered, the food came out super fast too.I tried their Fried Tofu Eggplant in Thai basil sauce and Thai iced tea both was delicious! My friend ordered a drunken noodles with extra broccoli, but they didn't include that in the price initially. After the order was served, they came separately to charge $3 for that broccoli while my friend was eating. Thought it was a bit weird. I would wait till the meal is over, or just offer it on the house as a first time customer gesture. Anyway, a decent spot for your next Thai craving.
Nice takeout place. They have a huge menu and when I went for pickup, seemed a pretty popular take out/delivery place. We ordered a green curry, massaman curry and drunken noodles. All the entrees were good and I wouls order them again. They can make all their curries vegan/vegetarian and even the noodles. The only thing they cant modify is the salads and thats ok.The only reason I took off 2 stars is because the server seemed super rushed. I wanted to verify that its vegetarian and he said yes we dont add, we are very busy, anything else? . As a vegetarian i 've had a bad experience at many thai places and if the staff doesnt have time to assure me more than once, I doubt the in person experience their would be great. Its not fast food for heavens sake!
Since moving to Jersey City, Sky Thai has been our go-to for Thai in the area. Service is great and food is excellent. We usually go for Drunken noodle (it's spicy) and Pad Thai. In this case, we went for Drunken noodle, which is always delicious, and Pad See-Ew. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
It was late and I was looking for some takeout food close to the hotel (Hyatt Regency by the Hudson). It was a short 10-15 minute walk, got there, sat down and ordered spring rolls and a yellow curry dish, and it was ready in about 5 minutes so pretty quick. Took it back to the hotel room and enjoyed the meal, Spring rolls were tasty, and curry dish had a bit of a kick to it. Portions were just right.
