Vinn Tasting Room - Jennings Lodge

I decided to do part of Distillery Row and decided to drop by here. I was impressed to find locally produced baijiu. It was all super tasty. Chaz, my bartender, was super friendly and knowledgeable. I didn't know too much about baijiu, so it was definitely helpful to have him walk through all the intricacies flavor profiles.

Vinn is the spot if you've never tasted Baijiu. It's a Chinese spirit, made from brown rice. It has a rice taste, similar but still different from sake. They do more traditional Baijiu along with flavored varieties (strawberry, mocha, etc. as well as a rice based vodka. Their tasting room lets you taste the spirits by themselves or in mini cocktails. We came in during a distillery crawl weekend featuring pina coladas. We ended up getting a pina colada as well as a mini cocktail flight (baijiu mule, baijiu and pineapple, and a mocha baijiu martini . The drinks were delicious and the bartender was very friendly, answering our questions about this unique spirit. We had a great experience so were saddened to hear that they'll actually be closing their tasting room. Production will continue though and their delicious spirits will be available for purchase still at the Oregon liquor stores.

This is a cute little spot with unique flavors. Definitely worth stopping by and checkin it out. I bought the BlackBerry Liqueur it reminds me of Berry picking in the Northwest by Mt hood. I made a fresh BlackBerry Mojito, perfect cocktail for when the sun is out and warm.

This tasting room was so fun! The spirits were all super tasty. I got the cocktail flight I picked the martini, the pineapple vodka and the blueberry lemonade. They were all great. We had a good time talking to Kristy who was very knowledgeable about the spirits and their history. Would definitely return next time I'm in Portland!

If you've never had Baijiu you're in for a treat as this is the only distillery in the USA that makes the traditional Chinese rice spirit. Wonderfully fruity flavors. Vinn rice whiskey is reminiscent of malt whisky with wonderful flavors of grain with a smoky finish. Definitely a great place for spirit lovers. Everything is grain to glass, gluten free and woman owned.
