Bidra med feedbackA mesmerizing architectural gem that transports you back in time. With its intricate designs and grandeur, the palace showcases the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. From the ornate facades to the opulent interiors, every corner exudes a sense of regality. However, the state of the palace is somewhat dilapidated, hinting at the need for restoration and maintenance. Nevertheless, visiting Mubarak Mandi Palace is an unforgettable experience for history enthusiasts and those seeking a glimpse into the region's majestic past.
Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex in Jammu offers a captivating glimpse into the region's architectural grandeur and rich history. Once the royal residence of the Dogra rulers, this complex showcases a fusion of Rajasthani, Mughal, and Gothic styles. The Durbar Hall, adorned with exquisite artwork, exemplifies opulence. While some sections, like the Dogra Art Museum, highlight the cultural traditions of Jammu, ongoing repairs limited access during my visit. Nevertheless, the complex's historical significance and charm make it a must-visit for history and architecture enthusiasts, providing an intriguing journey into Jammu's past.
Built by Raja Maldev in the 1500's. It was the residence of the Dogra kings. It's in a bad shape now. It's all falling apart. But it looks like it's being restored. Parts of it have already been restored.
It is a living example of Dogra architecture. Worth visiting to have a glimpse of Dogra dynasty. Every nook and corner of this heritage complex introduces the images of Dogras' culture. Jammu Tourism Deptt organizes many events at the complex.
I've probably never seen such massive, sprawling ruins, decaying under decades of government apathy and lack of funds. Slow and expensive restoration in progress as of March, 2023. Feels like a painful surgery on a beautiful body. No ticket to be bought. Ask the autos to drop you at the gate. The main gate is closed and looks like it may fall down any moment. There's a side shortcut through the neighborhood.
