Restaurant La Cabana

My husband and I spent the day here and prior to leaving, went over our bill. There was an extra margarita on there that we didn't have. No big deal, they took it off with no problem. We went back with friends a week later and there was an extra drink on there that we didn't order (again! for 100 pesos. They agreed to credit us 80 pesos!?!? It's unfortunate because the food is really good but having been burnt two times in a row, we won't go back.

Went here with my wife and the food was exemplary. Could not ask for more, the staff were extremely pleasant as well. Would love to go back! Snorkeled in front of the restaurant and saw a dolphin!

Went here on a tour from the hotel. Of course (it 's Mexico! the guy driving the van turns out to be the owner of the restaurant. Tour included a fish filet dinner and a drink. I asked to change to fish tacos, said I 'd pay the difference-big mistake! I was charged 7 bucks CAD/70MP for 3 tiny tortillas and way less actual fish than the others were eating! Looked like exactly the same meal, rice, everything! Only difference was I had a thimble of fish spread across tiny tortillas, versus a huge filet! The food was good though. Then, after a beach walk I had a pina colada and it was 8 bucks. Not normal in these parts! The owner chatted me up and was very interested in where I 've been, how big my house is, how often do I vacay, etc. Fyi, there are different prices for Mexicans-the Air Canada rep at my hotel knew I spoke Spanish and put me on a Mexican tour and refunded me $28. Thank you Luis! The Cabana owner was greasy and all about cash. The location is great, toward the quieter end of the beach and when the tide is high you literally have your toes in the water and a drink in your hand if you grab one of the front row chairs. But you can get that at any of the restaurants along the beach. Lots of places to choose from! My advice would be to go it alone on the water taxi and choose your own restaurant!

This beach restaurant has amazing food. We ordered the octopus with garlic and the special, bananas with seafood. Portions were large is we shared among 3 people. Restaurant has free Wi-Fi and covered beach loungers for us to use. Bathrooms were clean. We spent about 4 hours here. People were friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return!

We spent two afternoons here. Had some cervezas fríos, and a large shrimp cocktail the first time....large container, the shrimp....very small Service was great....Edgar....as in Allen Poewas entertaining !! Second time-only cervezas and swimming ‍I’d love to be there now!!
