Canopy By Hilton Ithaca Downtown

I wanted to try a different hotel while in Ithaca, moving my kid into college apartment and selected the Ithaca Canopy. I was not disappointed. The hotel has a youthful, fun vibe, is across the street from a great bagel shop and is right down the street from Ithaca Commons. When we checked in, Jason was one of the kindest front desk folks I had ever met. He asked me repeatedly if I needed anything, wrote down several food recommendations, and made sure we understood our parking options.The rooms were clean and halls were quiet for the most part. If we needed anything like linens or toiletries, the items were brought to our room quickly. I don't drink alcohol, but I was able to get the best tasting ginger ale from the front desk.I had a chance to speak with Mike who was so down-to-earth and enlightened me about the Canopy brand as well as Ithaca. The restaurant was always crowded for dinner, but Abi found a away to make sure I was able to get the roasted chicken thighs before my departure. Thanks again Abi!I really appreciated everyone's kindness, esp. Jason, Mike, and Abi. Looking forward to more stays the Canopy in Ithaca.

Great location and the hotel was bumping! Always something to check out nearby. Very walkable location to all the great things in Ithaca proper. Will def come back!

Hotel was in a great location, the beds were super comfortable and the staff was wonderful. Jason at the front desk went above and beyond to assist with any need that came up and to make us feel welcomed.

We had our dog staying with us in this hotel. Day 1: we got a noise complaint just because someone walked past our door and our dog barked during day time.Day 2: two guys stood outside our room door with one guy kneeing on the carpet trying to peek into our room from below. We noticed only because our dog started to bark again. We reported to the management and got response as the guys were lost on the hallway and trying to find their key. No apologies and no solution.Day 3: Our hotel room had a door connected to the room next to us and it is not soundproof at all. We could hear people doing all sorts of things and it was like they were in our room. We called management again hoping to switch to a different room but was told that the hotel was sold out. But I literally booked a room online after he said that.The basics a hotel offers its guests are privacy, quietness and cleanliness but at this place two out of the three are missing.

Unlike other places in Ithaca, where service seems to be a bit laissez faire in general, this hotel gave great service. I loved that there was room in the lobby/bar area for a group of 20 or so to hang out. My only feedback is around the shuttle service, which was cancelled unexpectedly on a few of us. Schedule and double check at least twice! Go early!
