Marco's Grilled Cheese - Iowa City

Ordered a classic grilled cheese and loaded tots, something I would normally order. I received a classic grilled cheese and walking taco. I was charged for the walking taco but was so hungry and buzzed after drinking so I did not say anything.

A local cart that became the champions of downtown. The new brick and mortar location has all your favorite street food and tailgating snacks. Open late makes it great. A staple of the Hawkeye state.

Before my trip to Marco's, I didn't even know it was possible to mess up a grilled cheese sandwich. What arrived at the table was miles below my lowest expectations. Cold, unmelted cheese slices in-between two small, lightly toasted pieces of whitebread. I thought the bare minimum for a grilled cheese sandwich was melted cheese slices... am I going crazy? This is to saynothing of the exorbitant prices. A grilled cheese with a small cup of soup will run you $17.

Their food cart at 1 am downtown is always a treat, so it was nice to finally be able to visit the store front location. Ham and cheese was delicious as always and it was nice to sit on the patio area. However, the price for the grilled cheese isn't bad,but when you make it a combo it does get a little pricy.

Buddy and I got food poisoning. They get their food for the grill from the dollar store and serve moldy bread. My work got them to cater, never again.
