COWRIE GRILL - Intramuros

When we celebrated the day of the mother, we decided to try this expensive restaurant. we booked in advance and we got an esstic. they had a special menu at that evening that was complete from beginning to dessert, so my wife decided to take that. my daughter ordered a steak and I went for a pasta with 4 cheese. A pity that there was a ban on alcohol in this night, so we could not order drinks.

Lunch in the middle of the week we passed this restaurant a few times and decided to try it. when entering the restaurant is smaller than it looks from the outside. decoration is settled on mushes. table tops are marmor with square mats. linen serviettes. chairs are cozy and comfortable. background music is light and pleasant. a steak house surf-turf style menu with some salat, pasta and no steak selections. the steak prices seemed expensive (tenderloin steak a baked carrot) around US$75 to US$90 per person, so we gave them a miss. my wife chose the mushroom soup and I chose the lobster bisque, both very good, but served with tasteless broth rolls. then we had chickens in crimped sauce and a roasted pasta dish, both tasteful and well presented. the service was uninterested and it was lacking in finesse – suppe served with dessert spoons. the entire impression – could be better.

The place is a good time. we ordered 2 seats. one was seafood bisque, steak, baked alaskan and the other was French wobbles suppe, seabass and cheesecake. we also ordered the cowrie grill pasta. the pasta tasted bland. the steak was very, and I love it that they have different possibilities for the sauce. they gave chewy crackers and there was a good choice of tee. what made me give a 5 in this restaurant is the service more than eating. eating was good, but we cost better. the server called ali was very polite and attentive to our needs. this is the type of server needs a fine restaurant.

After bad experiences in gloria maris near to drink and dessert stopped. looked at the bar and had cognac, Irish coffee and crepes suzette. extremely friendly and attentive staff. big showmanship during the preparation of coffee and dessert made us relax and smile, uh and ah....Maybe our evening changed from frustrated to happy. we recommend this place and appreciate the professionality of their employees. a little expensive, but every peso worth.

I had dinner here with my girlfriend and we enjoyed our experience so much. Excellent food, service, and ambiance. It’s pricey but well worth it. I’m definitely looking forward to my next visit here.
