14 West - Indianapolis

The evening was a standard night out for our group of (5). We started w appetizers which were average, The main courses (Lamb Shank, Mahi Mahi), average. I think the Sea Bass got the best of show at the table. Dessert was above average. So with ten (10) plus high end restaurants in the downtown area, average in two (2) out of three (3) categories doesn't cut it. Also, check your bottle of wine closely, I ordered a Cabernet from a Rutherford, CA winery and they were out of it. In its place they brought to our table a Merlot from the same winery but failed to disclose the change (found out after it was opened). Hope that was just an isolated mistake. In the end the manager took the bottle off our bill, so no real issue. We all live on the north side of Indianapolis and would find it hard to travel downtown to revisit 14 West again.
