Bidra med feedbackWe walked in and were immediately put off by how dirty the place looked. Missing ceiling tiles, torn carpet, torn seats, etc. I had a gift certificate so I decided to try the food instead of walking out. We started with some bread sticks that seemed like they came from the freezer to the oven and then to the table. They were not great. My son had the Penne alla Vodka with chicken and that was then thinnest chicken I have ever seen. I had the stromboli which was not like what I usually get from other places. The top was super thin and crispy, the middle was filled with cheese and toppings that were lukewarm, and the dough on the bottom wasn’t great. The sausage inside seemed a little off and the jalepenos tasted a bit sour (yes, I know they’re pickled). I only made it though a few bites and decided to stop eating. I’m not sure if it was in my head but I was nervous about eating their food with the condition of the place. Any owner that’s OK with having their dining room look like that has given up. We go out to eat frequently between small family-owned places to fine dining restaurants and this is the ONLY negative review that I’ve ever given a restaurant. On a good note, our server was great.
My family and I have driven hours from out of town for years to come eat at this gem of a place; however, after today’s visit and the server, Marissa, loudly talking into my mother’s ear as I questioned why she was being charged $5 for extra sauce that was not first given to her when her food came out, has pushed me past my love for this place. The pasta on my mom’s plate was sticky and did not have enough sauce while my dish had a wealthy serving, swimming in excess Alfredo. When asking Marissa for help because the dish was NOT to my mother’s liking, I’m not sure what took place in the server’s mind, but she abruptly spoke over me, got loud that she understood me and walked off. She then came back to our table, asked if we still wanted the sauce…my mother said no…and Marissa stormed off screaming, “Hold that Alfredo sauce…” as the swinging going door hit the wall. Was that necessary? And then my mom with her beautiful heart left Marissa a tip. But all we wanted was a bit of sauce to fulfill the need to flavor the pasta. People’s hearts are changing, as the fact that customers are sometimes treated as second class citizens.
By far the best pasta in SC! We always stop if we are in Rock Hill! The Cavatelli Di Casa a la Nonna is my absolute favorite and impossible not to order!
Huge portions, except on the Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli dish (8 ravioli) which was noticeably smaller than my Chicken Caciatore. The food tasted good but the restaurants dining room interior is in need of repair and updates. Ceiling tiles were missing and the chairs were uncomfortable. We were seated very close to others (likely to avoid sitting tables under missing ceiling tiles) which made the large space feel cramped. The waitress was attentive and kept our drinks filled.
Huge portions. Had enough leftover Chicken Parm for three lunches. Bruschetta was exceptional. All ten of us enjoyed the food and service was excellent. Nicely decorated.
