Hashigo Sushi - Huntington Beach

Have a day off, thought of going back to Hashigo to enjoy some authentic sushi at sushi bar. I was out of luck, one of the fish company was late delivering their fish, so I ended up ordering whatever is available. Clearly the chef who served me today is not the master chef. The cut is worse than me sitting at one of the outdoor table.I ordered following listed as specials: Ankimo: fair, not special Oyster: not sweet, tasteless Japanese Uni: Based on price, I wouldn't expect seeing slimy Uni in one of the nigiri.In addition I also orderedShima Aji: the cut was horrible, included blood residue and fish skin that are chewy and fishy.Hotate: the plate holding my nigiri sushi was wet.Overall, not the quality experience I would expect having at the sushi bar. Today's experience definitely a disappointment!

Party of 5 that sat on the patio. The owner and the staff were very nice and accommodating! Our server, Jeff, was funny, personalable, and also very very busy! The food was delicious (try the Wasabi stock, you won't regret it) and the sake was great! We will 100% come back the next time we are in town.Food: 5/5

First time here. Overall, the food was really good. Fish used for sushi was fresh, delicious and good size. The service was poor. The wait staff seemed disorganized. We were seated at the sushi bar. The chef greeted and a wait staff came by for a drink order. Then we waited a bit. Our drinks were delivered. Then we wanted to order appetizers which we needed to order from a waitstaff not from a sushi chef. Then we waited and waited. Another staff noticed that we were looking around looking for something. He took our order. At this point, we started ordering sushi. Sushi was really good. Compared to other places, they were about 50-100% more pricy. I wouldn't be coming here on a regular basis. The waitstaff never came back to check on us during the entire time. Never got water refilled. We asked for a check. And even then it took a while. The entire place gotten emptier by the time we finished but the service didn't get better. Overall good quality sushi!!! The service was poor which dampened my first dining experience at this place. The high price and poor service BUT good quality sushi!

Very good sushi.. dragon roll and crunchy rolls were really good.Service was prompt and Friday night was busy.. we got food on time and even my 3 year old baby loved the crispy calamari..Very nice inside, we will definitely be back..
