The Olive Branch Inn - Huddersfield

I had a delicious Sunday roast at this restaurant and would definitely recommend it. I will definitely be going back again in the future. The service was great, the location was perfect, and the highlight of the experience was the peaceful and quiet atmosphere.

I went to this restaurant for a work meeting and barbecue. The location was great, the building was interesting, and the staff were very friendly. The food was just okay. It would have been even better if the weather had been nice so we could have had the barbecue outside, but oh well. Overall, I would rate the service and location a 5 out of 5.

What a pleasant surprise! The staff were welcoming and attentive, even changing our table without any hassle. The goats cheese starter was delicious, and my husband enjoyed his scallops and pigeon breast cooked pink. We all had the roast dinners, two with mushroom and myself with lamb. The dishes were presented well, but we felt that for the price, mash and cauliflower cheese should be included. We were too full for desserts, but enjoyed sitting outside in one of the many pleasant outdoor areas. The patio doors in both rooms were a nice touch on hot days. I’ve been to the olive branch twice in the last month and each time has been disappointing. The first time the food was very mediocre for the price they charge. I had a hair in my meal and was spoken down to by the waitress. The second time I was charged 3 different prices each time I went to the bar for the same round of drinks. Each time it became more expensive! The service is slow and very aloof and we were squeezed into a corner where it was impossible to get out of unless the whole table got up out of their seats. Visited on a Sunday as part of a family get together and I had high expectations. Unfortunately the food wasn 't good. The roast beef was extremely salty and barely edible. The roast potatoes were very weird as if they had been rolled in flour before cooking. The Prawn starter was a disaster...they place the avo prawns on top of chopped salad so the lettuce is soggy and there 's no bread with the prawn starter!!! Why not??? Most of our party commented on the saltiness of the food. I was asked at the bar how was your meal when I told the lady it was very salty she replied well at least you don 't have to wash up! How rude!! Not even a sorry you didn 't enjoy it, totally disrespectful and totally disregarded my complaint. A well deserved 1 Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 1
