Tiger Noodle House - Houston

After hearing rave reviews from friends, we were excited to try Tiger Noodle House but ultimately left disappointed. The food can best be described as "OK" with nothing particularly awful about it, although the fried rice was a miss. The veggie rolls and homemade tofu were just average, with the sauce on the tofu being overly sweet. The veggie fried rice was nearly inedible, while the garlic broccoli was lacking in spice. The spicy and sour shredded potato was a bit better than OK, with a good level of spice but lacking in overall flavor. Overall, I would only return to Tiger Noodle House if pressured by someone else, as I would not actively choose to dine there again on my own.

Review of delivery order: I ordered the sausage fried rice, but received plain fried rice instead. The hot and sour soup was decent. The bamboo shoots seemed like they were from a can and were not rinsed. The broccoli in one dish was rotten, but still served. Who knows where the worm went.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The boba was excellent, the soup dumplings were delicious, the spicy wonton was wonderful, and the Dan Dan noodles were fantastic. I enjoyed a solo lunch here before a long drive and I would definitely come back again.

The restaurant is gorgeous, but unfortunately, the food I received was not good. I ordered the chicken and broccoli dish, but the chicken tasted like rubber. I sent it back and tried the beef and broccoli instead, but once again, the meat had a strange taste and texture. I didn't take a photo of the chicken because I was too disappointed. I had to constantly ask the waiter for things, and I found it strange that the cook (who I assume was also the waiter) stood and watched me while I tried to eat my meal after sending it back.

A nice variety of very tasty food. The service is excellent and they're open later than some places in Rice village. The spicy Dan Dan noodles were really good.
