We had a lunch here today and came back again in the afternoon for a wine drink, because we enjoyed our lunch. The cafe provided a delicious carrot soup with 2 pieces of warm bread for the lunch. A bowl of soup had a big quantity and tasted very good. My husband liked his sandwich too.The afternoon antipasti was a big platter, too.
I've been to the MFA before, but never really ate at the cafe. So I decided, why not try it out! First impression: This Cafè is really nice and pretty. There's a lot of movement, and it's plenty packed (especially on Thursdays). The servers are really nice, and I dare say, they have a really good looking service team! Service: They were nice and friendly, no complaints. Food: So here's the real reason I gave it 3 stars. I usually don't give bad reviews, but the spaghetti really didn't do it for me. It was really small for what you pay (10.50 for what's pictured). Also, once you bite into the spaghetti you're kind of left wondering if you're on a prank show. There was absolutely no taste to it. I added a ton of pepper and salt just to add any kind of taste to this bland pasta/meatballs. I'm sorry, but yeah. There might be better foods here, but from first impressions, I'm gonna have to say it's a no go for me.
Probably the best restaurant in the museum district. Great food and great quality.
Y'all. The food here is exceptional. Not just for a museum but for a Houstonian restaurant. Really it is very good quality food. They have great coffee. If you are Italian, you can safely order an espresso here (ask for 1 shot though). I come here to eat and have a glass of wine even when I'm not visiting the museum exhibitions. Exceptional restaurant. I would take visitors to Houston here.
