Bidra med feedbackBest Japanese Shabu Shabu place, simple, meat and veggie with wide variety of soup bases to try, meat selection is good, fresh veggie and happy hour dishes are good to try, service could be better in terms of promptness, interior deco got a little out dated but maybe they are transitioning into an updated interior deco. Parking is behind the entrance for $1-2, no validation offered. As of now, they offer discounted gift cards during the year end holiday season and military discount
Dined here for the late night chanko set $19.95). Only available after 8:30pm. It is so wholesome, comforting, and makes you just full enough. It comes with a bowl of rice and your choice of protein; short rib, chicken, pork, or tofu. I always order the Ichirki broth soy sauce base) and after cooking the veggies/tsukune will ladle some broth on the rice for more flavor. Check out the other late night happy hour appetizers/drinks/dessert offerings to round out your meal. Decent service here, bigger parties can eat at the low tables with special floor seats. Cozy nabe spot.
I recently visited Ichiriki for a shabu shabu dinner with some friends, and it was an absolute delight. We opted for the sukiyaki set, which came with the most scrumptious short ribs. The sukiyaki broth was out of this world, packed with rich umami flavor. The short ribs were tender and bursting with flavor. Now, let's talk about the tsukune which was a fantastic addition to the meal. It was served with a side of rice and was a perfect complement to the shabu. The meal came with ramen and I let it soak up the incredible broth. It was a perfect way to finish off this amazing dining experience. Service was very good and attentive. So, if you're looking for a fantastic shabu shabu dinner, Ichiriki is definitely the place to be.
My friend wanted to celebrate her birthday here. Making a reservation for a large party, was super easy, it's really conveniently located, there is a parking lot in the back and the food is delicious! I had been to other Ichiriki's but it's been a while since I've been to this location. And I hadn't been to hot pot since before covid, so it was basically a new experience. I was the last of my party to arrive at 5:59 and our sever still let me put in a happy hour order that ends at 6pm. That was so nice! The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the location, including the bathrooms are really nice and clean. We informed the server that it was my friends birthday, and she was wearing leis, so it was obvious. There was a LONG wait before dessert, we thought they might have forgotten, but when it finally arrived it was HUGE and then we understood what was taking so long. We were expecting a small little birthday ice cream scoop or something, but it was seriously large enough to feed our entire party of 8 and then some. They did not charge us for it. Overall we had a really great time and I can see why my friend loves this place so much!
3 stars I just came back from Japan and the pork broths there sooo good!! So it 's hard to give a 4. Parking We approached Piikoi via Kapiolani. Once on Piikoi heading makai, if there 's meter parking available great! Watch the time, we needed a little over an hour. Credit card meter. If not there 's paid public parking in the back. Service friendly. From 11 6 per the menu it 's their Early Bird specials. We both ordered the Niku Nabe. It was a good amount of meat, sliced pork and beef and Tsukune the ground meat prep in the bamboo (I have a smaller appetite and didn 't finish it all, friend ate all and lots of Napa cabbage, a small piece of aburage, a couple of small pieces of soft tofu, a few slices of carrots, chives, a half of a larger mushroom (shiitake? , a small mushroom, some thick bean thread noodles and choice of udon or ramen. I got the Paitan creamy pork broth not as creamy or pork flavored as I expected. Saltier than my friend 's shio Pirikara spicy salt base with garlic and red peppers It wasn 't spicy.to me and I can tolerate some heat, but not a lot. But both broths were good. The AC was strong and directly blowing on us so being a jacket. Warmer once the stove is turned on. A nice meal quiet, good for a first or early date the restaurant was about a third full. We walked in. I enjoyed the dessert. Two small scoops of match ice cream, azuki beans and small balls of soft mochi. It 's a small dessert and not overly filling. I enjoyed eating here on a cooler, below 75 degrees day.
