Giovanni's Shrimp Truck - Honolulu

Shrimp trucks are a must when on the north shore of Oahu and this one seems to be the most popular. Plus our friend, Peter, had good things to say about this one so it was our truck of choice. We got the Scampi with Macaroni Salad. If you check in on Yelp you get a free drink too. Everything was delicious. There was no line and we got our food quickly. There are a bunch of picnic tables to eat at which is really nice. It's cash only. If you're going to the north shore, stop here on your way!

Worth the drive. This is the original, and I think this location is less crowded than their Haleiwa one. Garlic scampi is their most popular for good reason. Finally tried their hot and spicy plate. Was always afraid to try it since they say no refunds if it's to spicy for you. Glad I tried it, has a nice heat and unique flavor. I think the lemon butter is kinda boring compared to the other two.

I had the shrimp scampi and my wife had the butter lemon shrimp. As soon as she had a taste of the scampi she regretted her decision. The butter lemon was good but the scampi was hands down the best shrimp we have ever tasted. Went at 2pm and literally walked right up to order. The extra drive to this location was worth it.

Shrimp was full of flavor and good size. Garlic dog was great. Great spot to stop while touring the North Shore. Area has flea market nd other trucks. Very cool area to explore.

First off, remember to bring cash as they are cash only. We went a little before lunch so the line wasn't very long but be prepared as the line can get very long. We ordered the shrimp scampi and the garlic hotdog. It took less than 10 minutes for us to get our food. Food is reasonably priced and the shrimp were a good size. Both dishes were delicious but eating the shrimp does get messy. The sauce was very garlicky just the way I like it. There are conveniently placed cleaning stations though so you can wash your hands after.
