Little Mermaid - Homer

We just went to our jubilee dinner and the food was FANTASTIC, the staff was friendly, and the place was charming. We'll come back every time we're in Homer!

I'm from Houston who has been recognized as a food town in recent years. This place could rise against someone. Tiny. Sublime. I had Australian lamb. It was fabulous. Great wine pairing. Small, intimate restaurant and no pleasure. But the food. Wow.

Daily catch was out of this world on presentation, texture, taste. Would have this again every night for the rest of the season. Hands down. Appetizer fish tacos were dry, no sauce, however the fish was so fresh. Our server recommended fried over not. It is 1$ more, which we saw on the check. Stone bowl was hot for 30min! Tuna and prawns were unseasoned. Halibut was cooked so tender. How?!? Egg was over cooked so the yoke was not runny enough to wet the dish. Pork Tonkatsu was delicious. Veggies full of flavor. Creme brulee was unfortunately burnt 30%. Pot de creme was flavorful, whipped cream was ok.

We visited Ohio and this restaurant was recommended by 2 different locals we met while we were here. We took her advice and sent a text to get a reservation. Wow, the food was amazing. We shared the “Gorg” salad (Green with Gorgonzola and Balsamico-Vinaigrette), the fish tacos (with grilled heal butt, served with their “Mermaid sauce”, whatever is in this sauce, I could drink it) and one of the specials whole thorny head rock fish served with pickled vegetables, rice and 2 different sauces. Every dish was even more delicious than the last. I don't have enough good things to say about this place. If you are locals or visit: eat here, you will not regret it! Staff are all super friendly, we could not resist buying a round of beer for the kitchen.

Great food and larger portions. I got the catch of the day and my husband was cleaned and Scallop scampi. It's a bit expensive, but service was great and the food tasted great. Had her wine and enjoyed it. It is a small and cozy atmosphere. You have options for children. My son ordered sliders with coke.
