Headed to an event in Salado and stopped by for a quick burger. Coming into the restaurant no one at the front to seat us and waited about 5 minutes. Sat down and got our drinks and noticed the table next to us was a bit irritated by their conversation. Lady said she could see down the hallway to the kitchen and someone had just lit a cigarette. . The waitress was friendly and took our order. The table next to us told her they now needed their order to go. (There were only a total of five tables with folks that included us. They finally got the food and I asked how long they had been waiting. An hour! We waited approximately 30 minutes for a burger and hamburger steak. The food was good, fries were warm, not hot but the burger was hot and tasty. If you want ambience this is not your place. Looks like they tried to put a corner together to sell crafts??? ‍. An old couch and junk in another corner. They did have a lot of to go orders and I know it's hard to get workers I try to go easy on these businesses. I would go back to try something else but would definitely be to go.

This was our first time visiting this review is fair honest as we are not locals. First thing I want to point out was that the restaurant was short staffed. As most places are now so I definitely will not base my judgment off that. However the overall cleanliness of this restaurant was a bit underwhelming. Our table was still dirty from who ever sat there previously. The rest of the restaurant was a modge podge of eclecticness not necessarily in a good way. I was pretty surprised to find two really old recliners at the back of the restaurant with blankets o. them. Maybe for older regulars? My husband got the a burger ? which was very big and onion rings. His plate was pretty good. The burger was huge and the onion ring portion was more than plentiful. I ordered the special which was a rib plate with baked beans and potato salad. My ribs were a tad dry and a bit fatty. They seen to have alot of menu choices which can be a good and a bad thing. Since ribs for instance are not always on the menu they may be more apt to dry out when cooked ahead.The beans were good but the potato salad was more like the kind you buy at HEB. Overall if it were a bit cleaner, seeing as even the floors were dirty, I may have enjoyed it more. Oddly enough there was what seemed to be toilet paper strung along the handi capped ramp heading towards the bathroom which was super odd. Honestly if they stream lined the menu cleaned up a bit and would be a great little spot. To be honest I was grossed out a bit by the sticky table. All easy fixes. I hear it's a good spot for locals though

Had lunch there today. Great food and the young man that served us was exceptional. Will definitely go back.

If you got the time. The quality and portion of s well worth it.
