A good place for Hiroshima style okonomiyaki. Very cheap, too. I went with the Soba and Udon variety, I prefer soba one. And if possible, sit at the counter for an additional experience.
Delicious and good value for money. We ordered two Okonomiyakis and the cattle tongue as a supplement and it came to less than 4,000 yen. You have an English menu, although almost all guests were Japanese.
First time in Hiroshima, but I had to find “real” okonomiyaki and walked a kilometer to Fumichan based on good reviews. They were right, it’s great! Staff were very helpful, even though this feels like a local spot rather than a tourist place. I explained I’d eat anything and asked for their recommendation, and it was the basic soba okonomiyaki at ¥800. I didn’t get extras because I wanted a baseline experience, but the Fumichan Special looked great. Anyway my dish was cooked and served on the stove in front of me, and was delicious. If you’re at the counter you’ll be expected to cut the dish with one small spatula, but it works, just stick with it. Perfect with draft beer. That basic soba okono was a filling meal, but I’ll try some toppings next time.
Located in a side alley, this spot is a great option if you are looking for Hiroshima-style okomiyaki. Plenty of topping options to choose from, you'll get to customize your dish. You can be seated at the counter or at a table (your dish will be then brought to you). Serving staff was reactive and friendly. Menu in English is available. Expect to queue a bit.
