Fumichan Nagarekawa-ten - Hiroshima

Give them a call in advance if you can as they are always packed. The Okonomiyaki here is super tasty and one of them together with a cool beer during a lunch is just perfect. To complete the scene, the chefs are also super friendly.

Waited in line for 30 minutes to get into this place. It was worth it.

Delicious regional food. Served with Hiroshima plum wine makes it worth every yen even if you have to wait for it. By no means okonomiyaki can be called fast food

I went to Hiroshima for work, so I happened to enter the store, but it was very delicious. I heard later that it's a famous local shop.

First time in Hiroshima, but I had to find “real” okonomiyaki and walked a kilometer to Fumichan based on good reviews. They were right, it’s great! Staff were very helpful, even though this feels like a local spot rather than a tourist place. I explained I’d eat anything and asked for their recommendation, and it was the basic soba okonomiyaki at ¥800. I didn’t get extras because I wanted a baseline experience, but the Fumichan Special looked great. Anyway my dish was cooked and served on the stove in front of me, and was delicious. If you’re at the counter you’ll be expected to cut the dish with one small spatula, but it works, just stick with it. Perfect with draft beer. That basic soba okono was a filling meal, but I’ll try some toppings next time.
