What a find! Stopped for petrol (reasonably priced for location) and found a very well-stocked shop and small well-run friendly cafe. Coffee great, cakes and bacon rolls tasty. Can eat in the cosy cafe area or takeaway. Outdoor (open air but covered)seating also provided.
Had to leave self catering by 9 so had breakfast at Kinlochewe. Parking restricted but public car park just along the road. Fuel station that has a shop and small area for sitting customers, very helpful staff and quick service of plain but great food. Shared gender toilet but clean and door locks!
We had been before 3 years earlier and remembered it was good. Well, this time it did not disappoint. The coffee (cortado) was one of the best we ever had. The toasties absolutely delicious. These days it is hard to find a place that does a 'just cheese ' (and no onions, no ham, no fancy chutneys) toastie. It was a 3 cheese toastie (cheddar, mozarella and parmesan) and it was perfect. The cafe and store have a lot of character too, you can tell the staff and owner are very proud of the place.
We stopped by for a quick breakfast and were quite impressed by the appearance of the cafe. It was clear that someone had put a lot of passion into it, as it had a very quaint look. The breakfast rolls were delicious. The toilets were also the most aesthetically pleasing ones we encountered during our trip along the NC500. Well done!
